1. Phone screen with recruiter.
2. Zoom meeting with hiring manager.
3. Five separate 1-hour technical interviews over Zoom, split over two days.
4. Waited 3 weeks for a follow-up.
5. Rejected.
Most of the technical interviewers were quite pleasant and friendly, one was very rude and dismissive.
They did not get back to me with a final decision until I pressed them to do so by informing them of an offer from another company. The speed of their response made it clear that they had already come to a decision at least several days beforehand but chose not to notify me.
I thought the job title/description misrepresented the role to an extent. It was very much a software engineering role that required advanced domain knowledge and potentially reading academic papers, but did not involve the creation of new/original ideas. The position would more appropriately have a title like "Formal Methods Software Engineer".
