      Candidature

J'ai postulé en ligne. Le processus a pris 3 mois. J'ai passé un entretien chez Sysco (Cleveland, OH) en déc. 2023

      Entretien

Following a recruiting phone screen there was a three phase interview. First interview was online with a Market Vice President, Second interview was online with the Operations President (hiring manager/potential boss) and a VP Operations (same level/peer) from a nearby region, final interview was in person on site with Operations President, an Operations President Equivalent, and the Regional Head of HR. During the third interview I was told that I was one of the final candidates (I assume there were 2 or 3 left at this point). The interviews were fairly standard, round-robin style interviewing, probing for experience, problem solving, leadership, etc. Everyone was friendly and it felt like a cohesive team atmosphere. Throughout the interview, I did feel that the team was wary of outsiders. Most interviewers had been with Sysco for 20+ years, and coming in externally felt like a paradigm shift for them. They kept talking about how close they were to customers and how it is such a people driven business; as if other companies are not. After the final interview, I received no feedback for 1.5 months, and finally just got a very form email saying that they received a lot of applications and I was no longer under consideration. I felt that was a very unprofessional way to handle the rejection. At this level of position and having gone through multiple interview stages, to get a form email about "many applications" was very impersonal and lacked any sort of tact, especially given how much talk they had about being a people first company.
