We had our placement drive on 14th September,2016. The previous night I slept at 12 and got up at 6, so as to revise some antonyms and synonyms. We had to reach at college SBG hall at 8:15 am. However, I reached there 15 minutes prior. The hall had a capacity of around 400 student's. I luckily got the seat at the last place. Still there was around 350 students standing in a queue outside. They were then shifted to a seminar hall where they were about to see the live broadcast of the pre placement talk by tech mahindra personnel's. Finally, they arrived and we were told about the company's profile on a brief note, the pattern of exam 75 questions in 50 minutes (time management strictly required) 10 general English 1 20 general English 2 11 quant 5 Reading comprehension 20 Verbal reasoning 10 non verbal reasoning I don't remember the exact figure, but yes quant was 11. Sectional cutoff was also their, we were not told about the cutoff but yes we knew it was 60%. That means we need to score 60% on all the sections. Well this test was very easy, if one has clear knowledge of grammar rules and has gone through the quant. Some topics profit and loss, clock, partnership, simple interest compound interest are the most common asked topics in tech mahindra. English was really easy, just brush up your basics. From 600+ students, around 200 cleared both written and story writing test, you can see the ratio was very less... From my class only 4 students cleared the Apti test, from which only I was able to clear the story writing test successfully... Friends, this is not a easy cake away game...you need to work hard on your typing speed in which my three friends lacked. Okay then, finally we are selected for technical interview...it was a large queue, we were said to wait on auditorium 2 , whereas panel interviews were done started simultaneously. Around 8 panels, were made where one2one interview was going on. Some of the panels were marked danger zone and safe zone by the candidates experience those who gave the interview initially... Every one was trying to get their panel done on the safe zone, but I didn't paid very much attention in this. Finally, it was it when my name was called out at around 5 pm. My friends were totally freaked out as I got the most dangerous label tag panel number. Well I entered leaving all the craziness created by all and showed my confidence as the interviewer was amazed to see my "MAY I COME IN?" statement which I think I said it with a great confidence. He said me to sit yes, come in and have a seat. Interviewer: tell me about yourself? I: said. Interviewer: asked me about my project I: told about my summer training project, as we had not yet started our final year project. Interviewer: okay! How much do you know about C? I: *confidently* Intermediate level sir. Interviewer: tell me the difference between call by value and call by reference? I: said Interviewer: would you like to ask me something? I: yes sir, As I have to join tech Mahindra from next year, so what should I learn in this one year duration which could benefit me during the job.? Interviewer:(was amazed by my confidence) he told me all about the work of ELTP(entry level trainee programme) and told me some of the things, like clear up my basics of C,C++ as I was from mechanical. Then he said me thank-you. You can go. This was it. My interview ended up within 5-6 mins. I was surprised as previous 4-5 students took around 30-45 mins. But I was said to leave on hardly 6 mins. well you see it's so much to say.. finally i got selected.
