I recently interviewed for the Sales Development Representative position and unfortunately, the experience left a lot to be desired. The conversation felt more like an interrogation than a genuine interview. There was little to no rapport-building or effort to create a comfortable atmosphere.
The sales leader conducting the interview showed little empathy or interest in my background or aspirations. Instead of exploring whether we’d be a good mutual fit, the focus was entirely on rigid questioning with an almost dismissive tone. It was clear professional development and career growth weren’t a priority here, at least not in this department.
If you’re looking for a place where your ambitions are nurtured and leadership is supportive and engaged, I would advise approaching this opportunity with caution. This experience made it clear the company culture—at least within the sales team—may not be as people-first as it presents itself to be.
