    Entretien

    The phone interview was fine. Not too in depth questions, basically just character questions. The in person interview was a different story. The man was rude and the questions were all very specific case questions. The atmosphere was VERY grassroots, and the office did not make the organization look very established.

    interesting interview process. applied to be a fellow. interview was pretty easy. was offered the job but pay was to low. make sure to ask a lot a question to understand what you are getting into.

    I was very impressed with US PIRG during the application process. I completed an online application and was contacted shortly thereafter for the initial phone interview. By the end of the phone interview, I was told that I should expect to be invited to the second round of interviewing, which in my case was done over Skype. The skype/second interview consisted of more thought-provoking questions and tested my ability to understand and reason through a campaign. It took a while to hear back after the second interview, but several weeks later I was invited to have a 1:1 interview. Again, the US PIRG staff was wonderful - everyone seemed very passionate about what they do.

    The reason I didn't accept the job came down to the admission by 2 of the interviewers that the general work week was between 60-80 hrs. I didn't think I could make that kind of work commitment.

    Got the interview through my college. Started off with a one on one interview. This basically consisted of your basic behavioral questions such as why you wanna work for PIRG, what do you take pride in, blah blah. Once you get accepted to that you go onto a group interview at their office (I had mine in D.C.). The group interview lasts a really long time and honestly my interest in them diminished during that interview.
    The people were very odd, the senior U.S. PIRG fellow was quite rude and full of himself. Additionally, the pay is quite horrible and the weekly hours are ungodly. If you really really care about public interest then go for it, but for everyone else... stay away.

    They were at a career fair on campus, and scheduled an interview with me for the next day. The person who interviewed me was enthusiastic and sold me on the group; she asked questions based on my resume and other experiences. She then had me E-mail her a copy of my resume. She responded with in person interview dates. I arranged to be at one in Philadelphia. There were roughly 10 interviewees there, with a number of current job holders. We were broken up into groups for one-on-one interviews with job holders and upper management, canvassing exercises, and brainstorming exercises.
