Interviewers were extremely rude as they made no eye contact and kept their eyes glued to open laptops, while answering IM's throughout the duration of each conversation. They also told me employees on this team have "no work-life balance" and have to work nights and weekends in addition to the usual 9-6 PM, M-F schedule. Apparently it's next to impossible to get anything done because Leadership does not want to make decisions they will be accountable for.

    I applied and then about two weeks later got a call from a recruiter. We had a good initial call, then I didn't hear anything for another couple of weeks. A different recruiting coordinator emailed me to set up an in-person interview, then didn't respond after that. Then, a new recruiting coordinator set up a phone interview with the hiring manager and an in-person interview with the team.
    My call with the hiring manager was ok, but she was abrupt and uninformed as to what was going on in the process. She said "Well, if you are selected to move forward with a team interview, we'll go from there." I then told her I had one scheduled for the next day (she worked in a different office) and she was surprised to hear it. When I asked about salary, she said I should have discussed that with the recruiter. I told her he told me to talk to her about it and she replied "Well, you should have had that discussion before this and he could give you a better idea of what the salary is."
    The next day, I had an interview on site with the team (the manager was not there or on the call) and it went well. They were very welcoming, albeit a bit disengaged (some of them.)
    Three weeks went by and I hadn't heard anything, so I reached out to my original recruiter. He said they were still working through the candidates but that they should know in a couple of weeks. That was six weeks ago. I still haven't heard anything from Visa, or even gotten a formal rejection from the system.
    If you decided to go with another candidate, I get it. But at least communicate with people. The whole experience was negative for me.

    I applied online. I had a recruiter screen and an onsite interview with 4 people. The interviews were pleasant and easy. It was hard to get information on the status and required a lot of follow up and waiting.

    Multi-step. Started with screening call with the hiring VP (manager), then a discussion with HR, then more detailed meeting with the hiring VP. The follow-up, more detailed meeting was a 1 hour in-person meeting. There was additionally another follow-up phone interview, again with the VP (hiring manager)

    Fair. There seems to be a bias toward hiring experienced people from outside Visa. Particularly helpful is experience in payments through an FI or merchant. People doing the interviewing really have no expertise in evaluating someone's skillset.

    The interview process is fairly traditional. Meet with HR recruiter in a screening call. Followed my a 4-5 hour on-site interview process with approximately 4-5 interviews conducting individual interviews. Interviewers were from cross-functional teams.
