Questions d'entretien chez Wolverine Trading

Three rounds over zoom, interviewed with an engineer and head of trading department. Fairly standard interview process, nothing out of the ordinary. Questions asked about finance knowledge and coding expertise

Before the interview there was an OA. During the actual interview, there's a short resume review followed by a series of quantitative + one or two market questions as expected for a quant interview. The main difference is that WT asks more ML-focused questions than other firms.

3 rounds of interviews. Last one being with a partner at the firm. He repeatedly cursed during our call and was unbelievably unprofessional and openly toxic. It was a huge waste of my time and energy.

Had an intro call with a recruiter. Then an intro call with some staff, then a day with a few interviewers. I did horrible on the test. I was brain deep in one tech at work and drew a blank on simple questions. One interviewer was very rude when I asked him about one of the questions after the interview. I've done this a ton of times and interviews like this show why companies have a hard time getting the best coders. My resume is hard to beat, but I suck at interviewing. Worst part, they never got back to me. Recruiter turned out to be rude as well. I demand a response if I take my time to interview. I never got a yes or no.

Judging from the lag time between application submission and receiving the online screening I get the impression that the position they are trying to fill is not time sensitive. One thing which I found interesting was the inclusion of behavioral questions on the preliminary HackerRank screening.

First was a screening test which I passed which led to two phone interviews The first call was with a data scientist which wasn't too difficult and was general questions. The second after passing the first was with a trader who was far more theoretical and tried to gauge your intelligence.

Phone screening + coding test with engineer + 5 hour long coding exam with different engineers. Leetcode medium level questions. A few basic behavioral questions. Process took a few weeks. Seems like WT wants the absolute perfect candidate so you need to be flawless in your solutions (fastest time complexity and lowest memory usage).

There was an online test where you could select your language preference between a couple of options and they gave interviews to the best performers. Explaining your work is vital.

Was sent a hackerrank to complete. After completing the hackerrank, I heard nothing from Wolverine. I reached out a few times only to be told that they weren't done planning their recruiting process. They never reached out after that to let me know if they were rejecting me. If you're going to ask me to spend an hour on a coding challenge, at least have the decency to update candidates. Also, why in the world are you sending coding challenges when you aren't even done with the planning phase of your recruiting pipeline? Wolverine just wasted my time

Overall very pleasant experience. They move very quickly and everyone is extremely professional and friendly. Not an outrageously hard interview, and everyone is pretty chill. First step is a pretty easy hackerrank with some behavior questions. Next step is a phone screen going over why you want the job and some lightning round trivia on data structures, concurrency, networking. Final round is several behavioral and technical interviews. Pretty relaxed overall, seems like a good place to work.
