This was for Yahoo Finance.
Applied online. Was contacted directly by the the Dev manager. Did a video phone screen on something like colabedit. Came in for an interview.
They gave me about 3 hours to code up an app, then they gave me an algorithm test, then one that was a little more behavioral, and finally an app design session.
The food was good, and their office seems pretty nice, although they were recently acquired by Oath/Verizon. It seemed a little empty. Kinda cool to see all the Aol stuff and brands I recognize all in the same office.
Edited: Originally I posted that there was no follow up. I received a response about a couple weeks after the interview letting me know that they were looking for someone more senior.
Still not sure where I went wrong. I think I did pretty well on the app test and the algorithm question, so maybe they just did not feel that it was a strong culture fit.
There is an option to do a presentation instead of the 1:1 interview sessions. If you have a personal project or are an expert on a topic they will encourage you to present.
Questions d'entretien [1]
Question 1
The standard algorithms questions. The main difference being the app coding exercise and a conversation about product management.

Applied online, then recruiter sent me an email with employment questions and scheduled a technical phone interview. Interviewer was really rude and talked down to me throughout the process. He asked me if I had experience with some IOS products even though my experience was in android and when I said no. The response was like "What??? You never even worked with that???" For the technical interview he continued to insult me. When I asked if I could quickly look up how to do an exponent operation he was like "WOW. You know a number squared is just the number multiplied by itself right? It's basic fifth grade math!!" And he repeated "it's fifth grade math" several times. How cringe. And to top it off after I solved the problem he gave me the wrong feedback. I used recursion and he said I should have used a whole loop. They are literally the same thing. I knew I wasn't going to move forward even at the beginning of the interview by the way this guy was already talking down to me. But wow - yahoo doesn't exactly have a great reputation for being tech progressive but I didn't realize their interviewers had such a chip on their shoulder.

Recruiter contacted me to set up a phone interview. Phone interview consisted of android questions and 1 leet code medium question. I was then invited for onsite interview. There were 3 technical rounds, 1 lunch round and 1 coding challenge where you have to develop an app in 3 hours. Technical rounds consisted of system design and coding questions. I did well in those rounds. I was rejected because I could not complete the app. It is a simple app to fetch data from server and display in the app. I completed the implementation but the app was not working due to some issues. They were expecting a proper working app. Overall It was a good experience. The recruiter was nice and she told me the feedback after the interview.
