Das Vorstellungsgespräch verlief in mehreren Phasen: zunächst ein Videointerview mit dem Tech Lead, danach ein Coding Interview mit einem der Senior Engineers, ein gemeinsames Mittagessen mit dem Team und ein Gespräch mit dem CTO.
Es war weniger ein klassisches Interview, sondern mehr ein Austausch, bei dem ich auch Gelegenheit hatte, Fragen zu stellen und mehr über das Team und das Unternehmen zu erfahren.

The process is simple and efficient:
1. a phone screening (about half hour),
2. a pair programming session (about 2 hours),
3. and an interview with the department lead.
That's it.
There is no take-home coding challenge that takes hours to finish, no sequential interview with lunch interview which takes at lease half day, even a whole day. In three short interviews, candidates can demonstrate their knowledge and experience, and also have a good chance to learn about the company, the culture and working environment.
During the process, the communication with the HR team is very good. They are supportive and friendly. You can see how professional they are from their emails.

- on-line interview with an HR
- technical challenge followed by 1-on-1 on-site interview with the head of the team
- on-line interview with the head of the department
Throughout the process the HR team was very supportive and provided the feedback as soon as it was available.

After applying online via their career website, I had an answer within one week from their HR department asking me for a first call. We spoke for about 45 minutes about the company and expectations towards the new employee for the HR team as well as about my motivation and work experiences.
After this call, they asked me to come in for a personal interview for which I was asked to prepare a short presentation about a work assignment I had in the past, so they could understand my work approach a bit better. In the interview, we talked further about fromAtoB and what they are searching for as well as my qualifications for the role. And of course I presented my work assignment.
Overall, I was supposed to be at the office for around 1,5 hours that day. Since I was interested in getting to know the company and the role better and the other HR employee had free time, I stayed overall way longer and we were talking about several topics in a very relaxed setup - it really didn't feel like an interview anymore but rather an exchange between future teammates.
Afterwards, I had one last interview with the Head of HR of their investing company. Due to the work relationship the HR role has to the investing company, they arranged this interview nearby to get to their final decision.
Already the day after the last interview the CEO called me, provided me feedback on my interviews and offered me the role.

Ich hatte Gespräche mit HR, mit dem CEO, dem CTO, dem aktuellen Head of Data Science, und dem Data Science Team. Alle Gespräche waren von einer ausgesprochen freundlichen und interessierten Atmosphäre geprägt. Der gesamte Bewerbungsprozess hat sich über einen Zeitraum von etwa 3 Wochen erstreckt (allerdings lag Weihnachten zwischen dem ersten Telefonat mit HR und dem letzten Interview). Direkt am Folgetag des letzten Gesprächs erhielt ich die Zusage.

I applied through a referral and was contacted via email initially, I then visited the office twice for meetings with relevant employees. These interviews were relaxed, friendly and conducted in a professional manner with a great level of transparency about the role/company/future. I received an offer within 2 weeks of my initial application.

Zunächst gab es ein kurzes Gespräch mit der HR und anschließend mit der CFO. Beide Gespräche waren von Professionalität und Ehrlichkeit geprägt. Auch gab es die Gelegenheit das Team näher kennenzulernen, um zu gucken ob es auch hier auf persönlicher Ebene passt. Nachdem alle Gespräche gut liefen und das Angebot unterbreitet wurde, habe ich sehr gerne angenommen, nicht nur weil es inhaltlich gut gepasst hat sondern auch aufgrund der angenehmen und smarten Persönlichkeiten.
