How do you determine the direction of fluid flow in a pipe without directly interacting with what's inside?

5 réponses

Relative height of two ends

Measure the longitudinal strain at two points along the path of the pipe. The flow direction will be from highest to lowest strain. Measures shear stress. Measure lateral strain like longitudinal strain, associated with fluid pressure. Pressure gradient will be from high strain to low strain. Moins

Using atleast 2 Ultrasonic wave transmitter/receiver

If you had a hot coffee mug in a room, what information would you need to derive the heat transfer equations?

4 réponses

You need to know the temperature of the air the room, whether the air in the room is still and if not the speed of any air current, the temperature of the coffee, the height and diameter of the mug, depth of the coffee, the mug material and its heat conductivity. Moins

Heat loss through conduction or convection Conduction: q = kA(T2-T1/L) Convection q = hA(T2-T1) - k, - themral conductivity - T1 - temp of room -T2 - temp of coffee mug - h - convection heat transfer coefficient - A: surface area in contact Moins

Can you be able to stand in the workshop and be able to handle a team of workers and solve if any problem arises at that very instant with enough confidence in yourself and make firm decisions?

2 réponses

Yes i have handled around 12 driver in my precious work experience in a Transportation & logistic company & also i have gained the confidence how to motivate our employees & make them work for their maximum efficiency Thankyou Moins

yes , I can do this task with confidence and maximum efficiency

1. Why do you want to join Tesla?

4 réponses

what position? was it base level GD&T or deep. Example?

Did they actually send a rejection email or just ghost you with no responses?

There's a lot of elements to typically cover in these questions, clarifications, scoping, making sure you're answering the actual question the interviewer is looking for you to answer, etc. Could be worth doing a mock interview with one of the Prepfully Tesla Mechanical Design Engineer experts... they've worked in the role so they clearly know how to get through the interview. prepfully.com/practice-interviews Moins

Do you know how to interpret cross sectional views?

3 réponses

Yes

a line that cuts on an equally block A-A

To list a few: 1. An elevation that tells differences of piping running on horizontal plane - it's an important drawings that shows data to complete Piping GA's 2. Clash-chks documents 3. Spacing & rooms for equipments location & positioning 4. Interface chks wth other disciplines 5. Heights chks on operational Moins

Of a fixed cantilever beam with a point load on the end, "Where would this fail? Why?"

3 réponses

In the base of the cantilever beam as a result of the bending moment. The bending moment decreases as one approaches the end of the beam (lever arm is reduced) whereas the shear force remains constant throughout the whole length of the beam. Moins

Failure generally occurs at the fixed end (where max bending moment occurs), specifically at the top or bottom corners where bending stress is maximized (sigma = Mc/I). Assuming long slender beam. Moins

Cantilevered edge, where the highest tensile load is due to bending moment.

Wenger Corporation

What is something you wouldn't want your previous supervisor to tell us?

3 réponses

That I have bad hand writing

found this question juvenile and immature

The interview is over as of now. How intrusive can you get?
