Honestly. It's very fun to talk about books.
You're having the kids read a book with their parents help. You tell the parents that if the kid gets stuck on a word, let them try, but if they don't get it, just tell them the word. The goal is to focus on reading flow. A kid is struggling with a word and you see his mom pressuring him to sound it out. They're both getting frustrated. What do you do?1 réponses

Be warm and direct- tell the student that he needs to sit in his seat until you are done reading the story, then he can get up and sharpen his pencil. Moins

I told them I was very nervous about classroom management--I wasn't sure how this should be done exactly, especially with the younger students; the IRD gave me the practice and fundamentals in training to be able to manage a classroom smoothly, regardless of grade level, all the way from 4/K through high school.
