Je travaille chez BGL Group à plein temps (Plus d'un an)
The main pro for this organisation is the opportunity (if you are lucky) to work within the Compare the Market brand. This is an ambitious, fas, lean business that really is employee centric and diverse in people and thought. In particular the Engineering and Product teams who are bold and dare to try new things.
BGL Group as an employer is a dated and traditional one, that has a lot of 'lifers'. As a result, BGL Group struggle to recruit and support high performers who want to make a real difference. There is a heavy sense of management and and worrying lack of 'do-ers'. This is mainly seen in their Peterborough HQ where there is a hierarchical presence and a worrying lack of diversity. I have seen this result in a lot of Managers who are low in skill, and attrition of lower level individual contributor staff. The result of this of course; is outsourcing spend increasing and...more meetings with more managers about how they will all DO stuff.
Other con is their HQ is based in Peterborough, expectation from London staff to commute frequently there.
BGL Group is not a consumer brand, when you tell people you work for BGL Group, no one has ever heard of them...unless you live in Peterborough.
Conseils à la direction
Think about what your Manager - AD grades and what really doing versus senior individual contributors in your team. Is the balance right in pay and delivery? If you are not careful your senior and strongest talent will leave you for better careers.
Reflect on the feedback you receive from leavers (especially who have come from other good companies and bringing knowledge to you) and consider taking some bold action.
Shred the number of People Managers down and promote individual track careers more. You have too many people who are not specialists in your company, sitting at the top of your career ladders for middle management.
Recognise when staff have gone above and beyond properly, do more for team morale and social budgets.

J'ai postulé via une agence de recrutement. Le processus a pris une semaine. J'ai passé un entretien à BGL Group (Londres, Angleterre (Royaume-Uni)).
I interviewed with Compare the Market in the London office. I was quite impressed by the speed at which the process moved. I was asked to perform a design task and then come in and present. The task specifically mentioned to not focus on the solution but rater on the steps; which makes sense since as an employer that's what you want to see; the thinking.
In the end, I didn't cut it. The interviewer (who I should mention is who probably designed the current version and doesn't handle criticism well) kept prodding at one specific area of my solution and in the feedback, I received mentioned that the reason my solution wasn't strong enough was since there was one specific button missing from it.
I am quite glad to not have received an offer in many ways as I wouldn't want to work in a place where decisions are based on poor communication and poorer reciving+giving feedback. I will mention there are some good people here though who just must feel the pain of being stuck in the rut with the others here.
