The company structure separates data science and engineering so they wouldn't be on the same team without the two relevant senior associates having to negotiate contract money.

It seems systems and structure (such as monthly snapshot interviews and career managers) are put in place to address important issues but the purpose of those systems are not important to those executing the systems so they are irrelevant.
Career managers should be familiar with the employees career status and how that field is changing.

Booz Allen has adopted a "speed dating" interview style in which the interviewee rotates from interviewer to interviewer. One interviewer asked technical, job related questions. The other asked more behavioral questions, gauging how well the interviewee would fit into the company culture.
