J'ai travaillé chez Trailer Park à temps plein (Plus de 3 ans)
Everyone who has never worked at Trailer Park has the impression it is a good company, so having it on your resume gets attention. You might get the opportunity to work on a big name client to build a resume. The company is very corporate so there are decent benefits.
Trailer Park is a huge company divided into many small divisions that do not work together or interact or share resources. So while the company appears to be a strong hub for creative work, it is not. The main decisions are made by external accountants that do not know the staff or anything about the actual work. At least twice a year you show up to work to find entire divisions just ... gone. Or replaced by a new acquisition. Or 50 people laid off, because the beans did not add up right. The culture is basically a culture of fear, with employees wondering not if, but when they will be let go. The corporation/accountants keep acquiring other companies and taking on their clients to create an illusion of growth. But those new acquisitions inevitably eventually wither and die because there is no effort made to keep talent, and it really does not matter to them AT ALL if the work is good. Just grind out the crap as fast as you can. The hours expected are ridiculously long, and working those hours is ultimately thankless, because there are virtually no opportunities for growth. The computer equipment is too old and too slow. There is no investment in infrastructure. The company is also top heavy with management, which is a large part of the problem with the finances. The office culture is grim and super over politicized. Because of the constant 'bottom line' scrutiny of every possible expense, this company is extremely ageist. They actively seek to hire people in their 20s with no experience because they are cheap. The building is in the hellhole of Hollywood, so getting in and out and parking is a nightmare.
Conseils à la direction
Start appreciating creative and producer talent. Those are the people that make what you sell. In the advertising and design industry, it matters if your work is good. It matters that people stay and build long term relationships with clients, so it matters that your turnover is too high. Break down the walls between the groups and pool resources and offer your talent a chance to grow and move from group to group. It would give the company the chance to actually become fiscally stable by building client relationships that last for years because the campaigns you do for them are great.
