    Candidature

J'ai postulé en ligne. J'ai passé un entretien à Capital Games (Sacramento, CA (États-Unis)) en juillet 2015.

    Entretien

Applied to Capital Games through EA’s web site. A recruiter that worked for EA Mobile contacted me to setup a phone interview. My experience with this recruiter was good. He was nice and quick to respond to my emails.

I then had a 20 minute phone interview with the Capital Games art director and they invited to do an in person interview at their studio in Sacramento. The interview was scheduled to be 4 and a half hours long and included around 13 people total.

I don’t live in Sacramento, so I had to drive there from San Francisco. Once I got there I talked to the Capital Games recruiter for 15-20 minutes, then I had a 40 minute phone interview with their tech artist that worked remotely. Shortly after that a different person came in the room to tell me they’re ending the interview early because I don’t have enough programming experience.

The people I talked to were nice, but overall it was a very frustrating experience because I spent half a day commuting to/from Sacramento and paid $45 for gas/tolls just to do a phone interview with someone in one of their remote offices and then leave. Capital Games should have a technical person conduct the initial phone interview for technical roles to avoid this kind of situation happening in the future.
