    Avantages

    Interesting and international projects to work on. Focus of company is on earthquake resilience internationally and in the US. Some very bright and friendly people in the company. Good health benefits. Agree with the mission of the company.

    Inconvénients

    Top leadership decisions is questionable. Number one goal of company is to make the CEO look like the 'earthquake savior of the world' - period. Most trips to earthquake disaster zones are really only photo opportunities for press releases with very little, if any, positive affect on the survivors. Claim they are experts, but in reality many time are figuring things out for the first time when it happens (which isn't bad, but don't exaggerate skills). Leaders in company rarely willing to work with other professional organizations as they think they are better than them. Nose too high in air - arrogant.

    The non-profit branch under the company is questionable and is really only one full-time person who is too young, inexperienced and has no idea about engineering, international aid and diplomacy. Most people in company believe the person really got the position due to their personal relationship to the CEO (in short, she's the spouse). I hate talking about someone's personal relationships, but the company allowed it to be part of the leadership strucutre, so I have no choice when evaluating the company. No person can ever move up in the non-profit due to this person's relationship to the CEO.

    Conseils à la direction

    Top Management knows what needs to happen, but they are butting heads with the CEO who is not willing to budge (feel bad for some of them). But in any case, please don't bring the CEO's personal relationships into the company's leadership structure. That is just disastrous and drives away good employees.
