Le processus a pris +5 semaines. J'ai passé un entretien à Progressive Insurance.

I applied for a senior data analyst role. I first had an HR round of 30 minutes and a technical round of 1 hour. Both went pretty well but then the recruiter suggested that I was a better fit for a mid level role. I agreed. Next step was an online 90 minutes assessment. I cleared that then I had 3 video calls of one hour each with three analytics leaders/managers.

After that I was ghosted for 2 straight weeks. Finally, I reached out to the recruiter but he did not reply to my email. I called him and he said “your profile is a better fit for database administrator and we are looking for an analytics person”. Clearly, the interviewers made up the feedback as I never mentioned about database administration in interviews nor on my resume/application. Such unprofessionalism and disregard for a candidate’s time is not expected from a fortune 100 company. I am utterly disappointed, not because I wasn’t selected for the job but because they literally lied and passed off a made-up story as feedback. It’s better to have no feedback than factually incorrect feedback. I wonder how the work culture at progressive would be if the managers can get away with behaving like this. Not to mention that the 3 interviews had repetitive questions with unrealistic scenarios. They seemed too obsessed with the STAR method. Going overboard just to ask STAR style questions was silly if not mindless.

I spent 5 hours in interviews, 1 hour in assessment and additional several hours in applying for the job and preparing for the interviews. A complete waste of time.

    Questions d'entretien d'embauche

    • STAR method.

Repetitive scenario based questions barely related with the job. They didn’t know what they were looking for in a candidate.   Répondre à cette question
