    Entretien

    I enjoyed the interview process.

    First Interview:

    First is the phone interview. It began at a slightly rocky start. Interview was set for a time. They called 30 minutes earlier than agreed. This was awkward as I was ushering a family member into the hospital at the time but I managed to do the interview while walking and talking. So it worked. The phone interview was light and breezy. Australian interviewer. I passed the phone interview and then set up a second interview in person. They set up a day on the phone, but for the email confirmation I was sent another day. No matter. We corrected this.

    Second Interview:

    The in-person interview. It was pleasant and it was very warm and conversational. A large part of the job is being on call. One mentioned depending on who is on call, calls can come while you're in the shower or asleep at 4am from any part of the world. And you have to answer it. This is to be expected as clients are in different time zones around the world. It is a concierge position of sorts mixed with travel agent. These folks look like they work really hard and at all hours. From my understanding their operating system is challenging to manage and is a bit of a steep learning curve. It you haven't been a travel agent before, it's not worthwhile pursing this role. I feel as they do you must have a solid foundation in flights, time zones, and know it inside out. Even travel agents coming into this job have a tough time. Almost everyone there has a background in the arts, film, theatre,sports. It is an asset for all involved as is having a solid network. You get a call back a day or two after the second interview from the first phone interview person giving feedback on the interview. This is great and very helpful.
