Avantages

Really great work life balance, I've never been bothered after 5pm (not that I would respond) and the teams are generally super flexible. Direct managers understand things pop up, and as long as you clock your 40hrs, you can have some leeway in your schedule as long as you don't make a habit of having last minute "appointments". HR is also willing to make sure that people are able to stay home rather than risk their lives trying to make it into the office during crazy weather events. Hurricane Helene was a great example as most people I know were told to stay home. Remote work is fairly standard, 3 days in office with two days at home. You get to pick the days but they need to be consistent (barring any occasional exceptions mentioned in paragraph 1). The office hosts some nice amenities, like a pretty robust canteen, small gym, and patio space with plenty of chairs and shade. While I can only speak to the coworkers in my department, the experiences I have had are super positive. Everyone knows each other, and as long as you're willing to help people out you'll be in good graces with pretty much everyone. Direct managers also don't play games when it comes to protecting their employees from other departments or subsidiary organizations when its obvious the other department caused their own mess.

Inconvénients

No real growth potential, opportunities are few and far between to move up within the company. A lot of positions are sales and engineering focused which is great for sales people and engineers but not so much for everyone else. Its also worth noting that the pay here is LOW, and raises are disappointing especially when you know the company is consistently exceeding its revenue targets. Management keeps saying "we know our pay isn't meeting inflation" but doesn't really do anything about it...but look another pizza party. You can tell c-suite tries to build a sense of genuine appreciation when it comes to office wide events but they don't hit home, I don't want to sound ungrateful, while I enjoy getting a free lunch or two, lunch doesn't put gas in my car, or a roof on my head. When you get a raise, assume that inflation will eat away at least 75% of it. There is also something to be said about the general culture of the company. While most of the staff are nice, there is a fair amount of inter-departmental finger wagging and blame gaming when something goes wrong. You get used to it pretty quick, and learn when to just delete an email and move on...but that really isn't something you should have to get used to in the first place. Especially when you consider that all the drama, stress, and general head slamming nature of some situations all boils down to an automatic door for some random store, located in a random state, in another nameless town. Lastly while the office hosts some nicer amenities (See Pros) that doesn't completely change the fact that most sections of the building are cube farms. Row after row of cubicles reverberate the hum of florescent lights. If you somehow sit near a window (and you aren't management or c-suite) know that your seat is worth its weight in gold. Some areas are set to have renovations done, but I can only speak for the environment as it stands today.
