I work with a department that has a very high turnover rate. Many employees have left, and the remaining staff often complain about upper management and directors. I have personally witnessed directors treating employees poorly. These employees reported these incidents to HR, but HR did nothing. The directors operate with an "it's my way or the highway" policy. When employees have made suggestions for improvement, they were ignored or shot down. This makes employees feel like they are unheard and not valued, and it further motivates them to leave.
The boss there was neither professional nor better than I am, but it was okay there overall. I would have stayed longer if I had found a better or more professional boss.
