A Trip Down the Yellow Brick Road (to Nowhere) If I were to describe the leadership culture here in Broadway terms, it’s a production of Wicked where the villains are running the show. The Decision-Makers: If They Only Had a Brain The folks steering the ship are driven by an overwhelming insecurity. They seem to fear any competent person with a shred of ambition. Many of those elevated into leadership roles lack real-world experience, arriving fresh off a three-day "training" session that serves as little more than a "CBN Kool-Aid" brainwashing station. This lack of integrity trickles down from the very top. Cultural highlights include: Zero Boundaries: Expecting availability at 10 PM on a Sunday, then dismissing your actual contributions during the week. The Memory Hole: Making written promises and then lying to your face days later, claiming those promises never existed. #Gaslighting The Oversight: No Courage Like the Cowardly Lion, those meant to provide oversight and accountability are completely toothless. On paper, they are supposed to supervise and course-correct, but they lack the backbone to take action. I’ve seen them draft and sign off on documents full of fabrications to protect the status quo. When push comes to shove, they are complicit in enabling a nightmare environment. Human Resources: No Heart It’s a cliché that "HR is not your friend," but this team takes it to a new level of coldness. Even when presented with documented harassment and discrimination—the kind of issues that invite expensive lawsuits—they do absolutely nothing to protect the individual. Instead, they flip the script and engage in illegal retaliation.

Inconvénients

CBN 2025 Report Card: A Failing Grade Reason: FAIL. Employment decisions lack logic. New hires are quickly marginalized and "boxed in" at the Richmond location with zero opportunities for growth. Integrity: FAIL. Leadership lacks a moral compass. Promises are made and broken without shame, often involving blatant psychological harassment and denial of facts. Honesty: FAIL. Truthfulness is treated as optional. Falsehoods are delivered both verbally and in writing as a standard operating procedure. Independence: FAIL. Autonomy is non-existent. Justice: FAIL. Without honesty or integrity at the leadership level, fairness and equity are impossible to achieve. All that and you're expected to work for peanuts as compared to industry standards. including the government Productivity: FAIL. Proactive contributions are ignored. Employees are left to "rot" in dead-end roles, making meaningful work an impossibility. Pride: FAIL. There is no satisfaction to be found in an environment that requires clinical intervention (EAP) just to endure the daily routine. Conclusion: Joining this organization is a major career misstep.
