Avantages
Pros include a good work/life balance, an ability to get overtime (if interested) and a sometimes fun working environment. From my experience, if you are motivated to work hard, management will definitely take notice and help you progress.
Inconvénients
From my time there, I had a lot of negative experiences at CTL. First, management had a difficult time recognizing those who worked and those who majorly slacked off. There was a common theme that "good" workers who got the job done, consistently had to pick up the slack of those who did not seem to care. Second, a lot of inexperienced grads get hired right out of college (not a bad thing); however, don't get adequately trained to work in the lab. This created a plethora of issues. Lastly, one of the worst experiences was my interaction with the lab manager. She had a tendency to create unnecessary tension with those who questioned her management style. I once asked for help and was berated by her to the point where I felt the need to raise my voice, in defense. Yikes.
