Working on a product that is helping teachers teach and student learn Unlimited PTO

Inconvénients

Classkick, oh Classkick. The dwindling of their once-thriving team from over 75 to a mere 11 stands as a testament to leadership's questionable decisions. The recent layoffs (there have been three in just over a year!) are just the latest symptom of a leadership team that seems more interested in preserving their egos than in steering the company towards success. The lack of transparency surrounding the layoffs left many of us in the dark, and the remaining team members are now burdened with an even heavier workload. It's clear that the current leadership is out of touch with the reality on the ground. Morale has plummeted. Many are quietly exploring other opportunities. The company's trajectory is alarming and it's disheartening to witness since it used to be such a vibrant and inspiring place to work.

Avantages

Classkick offers unlimited PTO which is a great benefit for work-life balance. I enjoyed working with almost everyone in the company, which was a huge positive.

Inconvénients

Classkick management is leading the company into the ground. I joined Classkick because I believed they cared not only about their customers, but also their employees. As mentioned in the pros, I enjoyed working with almost everyone at Classkick, but due to poor management, Classkick laid off half of the company after assuring everyone one month prior that the layoff of an entire team (yes, another layoff) was not due to financial issues. The CEO unfortunately lacks empathy, social awareness, and interpersonal skills that are needed to help a company thrive. He also wants his hands in many projects at once, but lacks the knowledge to do so, leading to projects being strung out for very long, and him not taking the advice his company hired experts to give. Similarly, leadership was very absent at this company. Members of leadership have surprisingly bad communication, and did not practice Classkick's core values. I also felt the company had a strong emphasis on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the interview stages and liked to boast about being a very cultured company, but once work actually began, that seemed to go out the window. With half of the company laid off, I can't say I enjoy working here anymore. It's a shame because the product has potential, and it is helping a lot of students and teachers. Wish it was in better hands.

Thank you for your feedback. I’m sorry that this has been your experience. I’m truly sorry. No excuses. The team deserves better and I am committed to getting myself and the company there. We have all learned a lot from this and one area we are certainly committed to improving is communication and transparency. In particular, we are doing weekly financial updates, and spending more resources and time on the leadership team to learn, collaborate and produce better and more helpful clarity for the team’s benefit. I am extremely grateful to all the team members who have gotten Classkick this far. Andrew Classkick CEO Help Teachers Be Awesome
