Avantages

A solid place to start/progress a career in marketing/advertising. Okay pay, no bonus. Solid growth potential. – Great people. You can't say enough about the caliber of people doing the work at C&T. I worked alongside some of the very best writers, designers, technologists, and strategists in the game. – Solid remote policy + cool office: This is one of the few places left where you can be fully remote if you choose to be. If you're in NYC, they're only in the One World Trade Center. It's a good set-up. – Good leadership opportunities: While I was at C&T, I was able to own work early on with little micro-management. That was a plus for me. It's a good place to grow, if you can stick with it.

Inconvénients

C&T suffers a lot of the large agency pitfalls common right now: – Uncertain direction: C&T has changed a lot, and leadership historically is bad at telegraphing that to the employees. The role of creatives in its future was not super clear when I left a few months ago. – Lack of standard processes: Projects happen differently every time, which makes it harder to learn the "right" way to do things. You need to be agile, and that doesn't work for everyone. – Bleak client roster: C&T finds a lot of its business with banks and financial institutions. It can be, in a few words, boring and uninspiring for creatives. The logos look good, that said. – Often rough W/L balance: C&T's culture, deep down, is "nose to the grindstone." There is an unspoken culture of crunch that can result in late nights and unrealistic expectations.

Avantages

Consistent workload, interesting projects, direct team was great and I enjoyed our rapport. Got great experience with big brands.

Inconvénients

Senior management literally had group chats to talk about which employees they hated, and would laugh about firing people. Would get screamed at over text or phone if one of us tried to leave at a normal time, even if directly told we were able to leave at the end of the workday. "Flexible unlimited pto" but shamed for taking it, often penalized. Overtime was expected and not well compensated, they would rarely sometimes offer to buy us takeout but very rarely.
