Avantages

Working independently ? Not much else to add to this section.

Inconvénients

Customers are treated like cattle. You go to a customer site and you barely have enough time to replace a part. It seems like someone who never worked on a PC , POS or a Printer decided that a particular job that if done correctly, would take a good tech 30 minutes but are given 15 to complete. If you need to go back because the issue was not resolved - you get written up for it. This is a case where as the saying goes - "There is no "I" in team but actually there is an "I" in team because you are the team. If you are at a customer site and they tell you - another piece of equipment failed you are not allowed to touch it - you tell them - call it in even though it may not even require a part. This maybe a great job for someone who lives at home with their parents or are retired and have a second income as the pay is just enough to keep you out of the poverty level but not enough to live off of. And because of the schedule, you cannot have a 2nd job.

Avantages

Management is very nice, contract client was good

Inconvénients

low pay, benefits expensive and not very good. PTO was low. Benefits included paid holidays but my contract was at a university and a lot of holidays did not count, including Juneteenth and Martin Luther King day. Also had to use PTO during winter break, which ate up most of my PTO every year.
