Avantages

Vendors provide much needed product training and lunch and learn.

Inconvénients

My experience at Cook’s Direct was disappointing due to a lack of structure and professionalism. There is no formal training program, and employees are often expected to learn on their own without clear guidance or support. The company does not have documented standard operating procedures (SOPs), which creates confusion and inconsistency across departments. Within the sales team, there is a noticeable level of misogyny and gender bias, making it difficult for women to feel respected or supported in their roles. Additionally, the company does not adhere to a 30-60-90 day performance improvement or onboarding plan, leaving new hires without the feedback or development opportunities necessary to succeed. Overall, Cook’s Direct would benefit greatly from professional HRoversight, standardized training, and a workplace culture built on equity, accountability, diversity and respect.

Avantages

Cook's Direct is a great place to work. They respect their employees and truly care about their customers. There are many opportunities for growth and advancement with many long term employees that have been through the ranks.

Inconvénients

Nothing much negative, just too far for me.

Avantages

- small company, everyone knows each other - friendly staff, people tend to help each other out when needed - core values create an environment of teamwork - lots of non-work activities (massages, catered lunches for holidays, bags and ping pong tournaments, chili cook-off, list goes on) - room to grow if your skills and desire exceed your current position - company is small (sub 35 employees) so everyone matters and everyone's opinion can be heard - niche market with room for growth in the market through projects and contracts - management is willing to listen to opinions and act on them (company surveys, one on one meetings) - meeting structure is fairly well organized (EOS/Traction model) - comfortable work chairs - weekly huddle that allows co-workers to commend one another on their efforts for the week (good morale booster) - free snacks in the break room - education funding for those who wish to continue their education (training, certifications, etc.)

Inconvénients

- may not be a suitable environment for someone who wants a corporate atmosphere - your work here is relied upon to make the cogs turn and everyone's efforts are important - some technology is outdated but there are projects in place to update - potentially too many meetings for the sake of meetings - could replace with stand-ups or just better inter-departmental communication - needs updates to business processes (currently underway) to create efficiencies and accountabilities - sometimes people take my favorite parking spot
