Avantages
Compensation is really good. However, what I really liked here was the startup culture here. Coming from a corporate, it was extremely comforting to be relieved from a hierarchical corporate culture. Senior management is always within reach and is willing to help consultants with their issues. No red tape and no multi-level authorizations needed to get things done. I think it is difficult to get in, as they hire only the smartest lot. This also means that you get to work with the best in the industry. In most projects, consultants are given ownership of their work and they interact directly with clients. This was quite a welcome change for me, coming from a large corporate where I used to work on a very small module within a lage team of almost 50 members. Consultants always have a visibility at the top level, which means your work will always be rewarded! Unlike corporate, there is no 'bell-curve' .
Inconvénients
Some processes within the company are still to be incorporated formally. Tasks are sometimes not well defined and cut-out for the consultants. You'd definitely miss a canteen or gym. Also, you'll need to get used to making your own coffee with a coffee maker!
