Avantages

Salaries, time off, good people

Inconvénients

"Train people well enough so they can leave, treat them well enough so they don't want to." Too many friends of friends hired and not held accountable for their actions because their managers cannot distinguish friend vs employee and discipline them appropriately. HR does not enforce company core values or the company policies in regards to harassment in the work place, insubordination etc. No employee review/raise process. You might get a raise every 3-4 yrs. If you are a high performing employee do not expect recognition or a raise for doing a great job. Employee value is marketed in the field, which is understandable, however more value needs to be geared towards the corporate office. No collaboration with all managers in regards to the company vision or current business. Lack of leadership makes it difficult to do a good job because you are not informed on changes that impact your department.

Avantages

I got a salary and benefits. I learned not to trust corporate to do what they say. valuable lesson.

Inconvénients

The CEO and board are absolutely clueless about how an oilfield service company works. they are all about money money money NOW. Understandable, but they are systematically screwing over every longterm employee who has any useful industry knowledge or experience. The refuse raises and promotions based on merit or seniority. The only way to advance at Express is threaten to quit if you don't get your way. So listen up new hires: don't sign a contract and you've basically got the keys to the kingdom. The CEO isn't wise enough to realize who the truly valuable employees are so he'll go to great lengths for any average joe who threatens to go to a competitor. Just don't expect to advance any other way. Loyalty means nothing to the decision makers here. When I left there were only a handful of employees who had been there for more than a year or two and most were working under new hires that made more money.
