Avantages
On the day-to-day basis, the people you meet have a lot of passion in gaming. This nerd culture is pretty genuine and if you have a game/hobby you love, chances are someone in the company shares (and is equally enthusiastic) about that game/hobby however niche it may be.
Inconvénients
Leadership simply does not care about their employees. - Internal polling shows that a large number of employees are unhappy with the current culture and leadership's response has been that those employees should seek employment elsewhere. On a side note, polls show improvement! - Anonymity was removed to provide "more meaningful conversations" despite employees voicing their discomfort with this change. If you are not the type of individual to put the spotlight on yourself, you'll have to find a willing friend to voice your questions and concerns. - Leadership runs from an authoritarian, top-down manner. Despite any passion you might have for the product you work on, you will have almost no autonomy and will be given directions from leadership that often yield poor revenue and show a blatant disconnect with your customer base. - Merit will not be rewarded. Accomplishment on both an individual and team level is not rewarded beyond a congratulatory pat on the back. There is very little incentive to go above and beyond the call. - Layoffs and furloughs without any indication of financial hardship within the company and giving people no notice including people who just went on maternity/paternity leave. One week it's "We're doing great" and the next its "Surprise layoffs!" - Leadership has openly stated on several occasions that US engineers are not as cost effective as Polish engineers. There have already been a number positions moved to Poland. And many speculate that more positions will move that way... - No 401K matching. Benefits are lackluster and base salary is not much better. These trade offs might be worth it in a company that has an awesome culture...
