Avantages

You get to work with bleeding edge tech and the fellow employees are largely really nice people that are a pleasure to work with.

Inconvénients

1. The founders seem to have no interest in developing positive management practices. 2. There have been several rounds of layoffs in the companies short history so don't get too comfy. 3. There is little to no mentoring or support to help you grow your skills. 4. Drive by management style. You hear nothing from the founders for weeks and then randomly get assaulted with questions about the status of the project. 5. Claims to have a strong work-life balance but completely ignores that in practice.

Avantages

I have worked at Human for a few years on many different projects. They continually invest in the team, operations, and technology in a thoughtful way that leads to continuous improvement for our workflow, the work we produce, and quality of (work) life. I have worked with a lot of the core team and many of the regular contractors. I have always been impressed with the people they bring in. Working at Human has helped me advance my knowledge and skills, both from the high caliber clients and projects that we're working on and from the strong relationships I've built.

Inconvénients

Sometimes they can be a bit reactionary / accepting of client requests that I think would have been ok to push back on a bit.

Avantages

There's an initial sense of creative flexibility.

Inconvénients

What starts off feeling like creative freedom gradually turns into uncertainty because expectations aren't clearly defined, so you end up putting work together thinking it aligns only to find out it doesn't, which leads to constant adjustment and second-guessing, and after this happens repeatedly it stops feeling like creativity and starts feeling like guesswork where you're trying to figure out what version of "creative" is acceptable at any given time, which makes the whole process more frustrating than it should be.
