- Depressingly low pay. - The advertised salary is misleading. You will only get paid your full salary for 8 months of the year, the other 4 are paid at either 50% or 70%. - No options for advancement or additional training. - Laughably inadequate initial training. - Little to no support from your branch. - Illegal Gyomu-Itaku work contract for its ALTs. - No alumni or support network for current ALTs. - They pay you for 29.5 hours a week, but that is in split shifts. For example, there is a 10-15 minute break between the 6 classes of the day. You don't get paid for those 10-15 minutes, which will be spent walking between classes, swapping out materials, and in short, WORKING. - They don't cover your health insurance, which is upwards of 100,000￥/ year.
