Avantages
IxDF is a very inspiring place to work. They have a very strong and clear mission, and the end user/learner/human is always the consideration. How do we help them succeed? How do we help them improve their life? I have great, supportive, and friendly colleagues. Everyone gives their 100% and sets examples for each other. There are minimal meetings, and focus time is highly encouraged. Overall, there are ~35 people at IxDF, and all teams work directly with the founders, meaning you're always right at the heart of the company's direction. You really get to see the impact of your work. Depending on which team you're in, you also get to work across many different areas and try new things. What's great is that you're trusted with this. This means lots of autonomy and learning new skills. I started on the Member Experience team, but helped with social media and affiliate marketing, and even presented webinars. I feel that all my skills from my varied background have been put to use, which has helped me feel fulfilled and confident in my abilities and place at the IxDF. Given this approach, there's also an opportunity for progression, and your contribution and performance are noticed. I began writing some articles, which snowballed into an offer to join the Editorial team and help produce courses—something I'd never have expected when I joined the customer service team.
Inconvénients
No major cons. Remote, async working can take a while to get used to but they've been doing this for a long time so the systems are in place to facilitate it. There is a lot of documentation, and sometimes it becomes outdated or duplicated. You just need to be vigilant in keeping it updated. The reliance on the Microsoft online suite can be frustrating at times since it's buggy and not at all user-friendly. However, security/privacy comes with its trade-offs, so its understandable.
