Avantages

-Work is interesting and fast-paced -Colleagues are incredibly smart, driven, interesting, well-meaning, and genuine -The firm is small, so you learn a lot in a small window of time. (i.e. client management, writing, editing) -You can take on clients almost immediately, something almost no other D.C. PR firm offers to new hires. -Keybridge produces the highest quality work, so you can learn a lot from colleagues/superiors. -Upper management is a wealth of career information and they'll offer to connect you to mentors. -Company makes an effort to establish a good culture and social atmosphere.

Inconvénients

-Some teams are overflowing with work/working late nights on low salaries, others don't have enough to do. Upper and middle management don't communicate often or well, which can lead to miscommunications about workload. Associates with lower workloads received higher bonuses than employees working until 10 or 11 p.m. Irregular clock-out times were documented during remote work, yet management never addressed them. -Management expects new employees to advocate for themselves but typically doesn't support speaking up in practice. (I.e. convincing management to let associates work from home during COVID-19 was very difficult and they didn't end up allowing it until mid-November even though a handful of employees voiced significant health concerns.) -Feedback, good or bad, is rare. -Upper management is purely male while the associates are women, which creates another level of discomfort when approaching higher-ups with feedback, issues, questions, or concerns.

Avantages

KBC invests in associates' professional development and prioritizes team culture. Lots of great on-the-job learning, very collaborative environment. Associates can earn high levels of independence and client management experience early in their careers. Great benefits package as well!

Inconvénients

As with most PR firms, work loads can be demanding and not always evenly distributed. You can expect to stay late from time to time, but management is helpful re-distributing work where needed. Because it's a small firm, there are limited opportunities for growth within the company -- the turnover rate is pretty consistent.

Avantages

Keybridge empowers its team to engage with a wide range of clients and policy issues. Everyone at the firm demonstrates a remarkable level of intelligence and -- more importantly -- humor and empathy. It's a professional environment that encourages collegiality and guides team members to achieve their potential with strong leadership. This is an ideal landing zone for anyone who enjoys writing about or engaging with policy from multiple angles. The salary is good when you factor in the sheer number of paid vacation days and other benefits -- like company-sponsored happy hours and dinners that occur frequently. The education you receive from arguably the best op-ed writers on the planet also constitutes a form of compensation.

Inconvénients

None. There was never a single day when I disliked this job -- and that's not any hyperbole. It doesn't even feel like a job if you are innately interested in writing and policy -- or if you simply enjoy talking to people.
