Avantages

Some nice people work there. Good idea in theory. Remote work options Solid customer support team that carries the company.

Inconvénients

No executive team. Experienced leadership is desperately needed across the board—especially for the engineering team, which has a surprisingly high attrition rate. The company needs to spend a lot more time on technical product development to get accounting right the first time. Hounding users to pay the company back for Level’s funding errors is not a good customer experience. The other reviewers who noted that the CEO micromanages are spot on—he has no prior experience leading a tech company, and that becomes apparent pretty quickly. Murky corporate structure. “Level, Inc” is not actually a licensed business (at least not in CA)—it’s just an umbrella name used to encompass multiple other businesses (Level Benefits, Inc, Level.com Insurance Agency, Level Administrators), which is weird. There’s no transparency into how these entities work together or why it’s structured that way.
