Avantages

- The direct manager was highly professional, supportive, and respectful. - The recent acquisition by KBR offers hope for improved structure, culture, and leadership standards across the company. - LinQuest has some talented and experienced engineers who are passionate about their work.

Inconvénients

- The team I worked with operated under a structure that lacked proper oversight and accountability. - A key team lead had been given authority despite having no leadership training, and limited professional experience. This individual started in a regular role and, within a few years, was placed in a position to lead a team of highly experienced senior and principal engineers. - The leadership approach relied on outdated, micromanagement-style practices, with little understanding of technical complexity and minimal ability to provide meaningful guidance. - Communication from this team lead was often unprofessional—rude, dismissive, and lacking respect for the expertise of the engineering staff—which significantly impacted team morale. - Employees were noticeably unmotivated; meetings were silent, with little to no collaboration or engagement. The environment felt tense and discouraging. - Team members were frequently placed under unnecessary pressure, and concerns raised were not welcomed. In some cases, individuals who spoke up faced subtle forms of retaliation. - There seemed to be a lack of understanding—or a disregard—for basic workplace conduct standards, including respectful communication practices. - The leadership structure appeared to prioritize internal politics over merit, qualifications, and professional conduct, raising serious concerns about long-term growth and employee retention.
