      Avantages

      I was a TA as a graduate student. I enjoyed that they paid for my tuition as a TA! And the monthly salary was plenty for my needs as a graduate student.

      Inconvénients

      If it is your first time TAing a class , hours can be long because you need to learn or relearn the material well enough to support students questions

      Got hit by the federal cuts. Not their fault but you would think they'd have better savings

      Avantages

      High quality core facilities and well resourced labs. Countless brilliant colleagues who can serve as mentors and collaborators

      Inconvénients

      Students and Postdocs are expensive due to high overhead, so unreasonably high productivity is often expected compared to other institutions. PIs are typically stretched very thin. Most departments/labs are very space limited which makes it harder to do safe and productive research.
