Avantages

Remote work with no required travel so far

Inconvénients

When the project is over there’s no bench. You’re fired. It’s a gig shop with a temp employment agency mindset. No PTO & v expensive benefits. No management knows what I do. I work for the client basically. There’s a lot of turnover with people quitting. It’s embarrassing to hear the customer ask what’s going on that people are leaving. A lot of people left since I started Even tho it’s remote work they don’t cover cost of phone or internet. So cheap! In the beginning I was told I had to bill the customer for nonworking time. There were weeks where I didn’t have a laptop even. It was unethical but they said if I wanted to be paid I had to bill and if they don’t get paid I don’t get paid. It feels like a startup out for fast money. I swear it’s a body shop I’m not even sure there’s a building lol

Avantages

I enjoyed the work I was doing and the facility was comfortable and close to my home. I enjoyed not having someone looking over my shoulder.

Inconvénients

I was hired for a project for 10 to 12 weeks. I planned on using this time to seek permanent employment outside the bedside care nursing area. After week two it was announced that the hospital was moving us to their former building which extended my commute and I was told that I could not work on that Friday. I was given no information about where I would go, what floor or what time to report. The facility was like a third world country! We were ushered into a small room with tables that were not at all comfortable for computer work. At 10 am or so we were told to "go home when you are done with your work and turn your badge in to your team lead". I felt as though cold water was poured on my head. I DON'T buy that MMY did not know. I feel used and lied to. Beware! Now this morning I am unemployed and I am contacting my creditors hoping they will understand that I was mislead and dismissed abruptly.

We are truly sorry that the position for which you were hired was eliminated in an abrupt manner. Please be assured that while this can be the nature of the business we're in, transparency with employees is of paramount importance to us. As soon as we receive communication from clients, we share it. We much prefer for departing employees to feel they performed fulfilling work and this unfortunately did not meet that expectation either for you or for MMY.
