Avantages
Good work experience, especially for new engineers.
Field Bonus and travel perks are good, there's many opportunities for extra income.
Managers are very good engineers, who also do commissioning, which probably makes the travel more manageable and rewarding.
Employees are treated like adults, not micromanaged.
Inconvénients
Knowledge is not passed down well. Employees generally get thrown into the fire, do their best, and then a Sr Engineer or manager comes in to save the day during commissioning.
Standards are not very clear.
Travel can be exhausting.
Work is often delegated poorly, leading to many people feeling overworked and burnt out.
Department culture is very cliquey.
