Avantages
Decent product but nothing to write home about.
Inconvénients
I was a leader at Maple and was told to have my team write positive reviews to flush out the negative ones. I'm not generally someone who leaves reviews (good or bad) but feel I have no choice but to warn others about this company and what it's actually like to work there. The culture at Maple is extremely toxic. Senior Leadership preaches about how much they care about their employees but in reality the only people that matter are those at the very top. There is zero autonomy. Even the smallest decisions must be approved by Executive Leadership who will question everything and thus delay any real progress from happening. External emails must be drafted and reviewed by management before being sent. The founders are completely disconnected from the employees. The only interaction they have with anyone other than VPs and above is a 15 min coffee chat during onboarding. This is the only time you will ever speak with them. Work life balance is non-existent. You will receive non-stop Slack messages on holidays, weekends, PTO, etc. I received a message from my boss at 10pm on Dec 23rd asking that I ping an associate level employee to respond to a non-urgent client email - my boss saw nothing wrong with this request. Leadership is vindictive, reactionary, and cowardice. Mistakes are quickly and publicly called out and the blame is placed on whoever is caught in the line of fire. Mistakes are not used as coaching or learning opportunities but as a way to make others fearful of anything less than perfection. Employees are not allowed to interact with leaders in other departments. Doing so will result in a very aggressive Slack message from your department head telling you to not bother them because they're "too busy". Different perspectives and opinions are discouraged, proposed suggestions are immediately shut down as wrong, and curiosity to any degree is dismissed as being "above your pay grade". Clients are regularly lied to under the justification that they are a private company and therefore don't need to prove or disclose anything. Contracts (both internal and external) are backed out of/changed mid term. There are so many incredible companies out there that will value your contributions. Joining Maple will be a huge mistake - I guarantee it.
