Thanks so much for your feedback! Regarding compensation, we work hard to provide a competitive compensation package for all of our employees, aligned with our pay for performance philosophy, reviewing all of our compensation and benefit offerings at least annually to insure that competitive stance. While we consider market pay practices to set our total reward package, there are several elements that exceed the market. Here are just two examples: in the US, Maxim's match for its 401(k) plan is at the 90th percentile of the market. Our employee stock purchase plan (ESPP) includes a 12 month purchase period, while the vast majority of companies have a "look back" period of only 6 months. If you have further questions or recommendations that I can help with, please contact me or anyone on the HR team at Maxim directly. Best regards, Laura Owen CHRO

Avantages

Working at Maxim was challenging and rewarding. Benefits are in line or ahead of the curve in pay, bonus pool, stock options as well as an employee stock purchase plan. The company has changed helm in the past several years, and it shows with the new management style. All top executives are in line with aggressive growth and a keen eye on the future no matter what the cost.

Inconvénients

With any new management there are always pitfalls. Management by fear, quarterly assessments, bell curved annual reviews (that even Maxim's own HR department states unfairly trap managers into picking a subordinate to be the "failure" employee on the curve for that year). Foreign Vice Presidents that can't communicate well because they never bothered to properly learn the English language. (Everyone in meetings - listening - catches every third word). It's hard to be taken seriously if you can't properly communicate, and make absolutely no effort at trying to improve your own skills. Very few other cons at Maxim that bothered me other than the usual "Pet Employees" that management seems to protect and advance unfairly. This is no different than any other large company.
