Avantages
Industry leading technology, compensation is adequate for the industry. Benefits are also adequate but nothing special. Most coworkers are helpful and friendly.
Inconvénients
There is a definite hire-and-fire mentality to this place. Instead of identifying those they believe would be successful, management typically hires and hopes for the best. The leash is short, however, and those found wanting (or unlucky) are quickly shown the door. However, long-term employees are just as likely to be canned on a moment's notice. The Great Merichem Bloodbath of 2008-2009 resulted in the dismissal of several long-term and key management individuals. The physical facilities are frankly dumpy and depressing. Benefits (read 401k) are designed to prevent vesting until you've survived several purges. The GM has a Napoleon complex and lacks the necessary judgment needed to identify the type of people that should be placed in key positions.
