Avantages
Shared camaraderie with my fellow engineers over discussing how much we hated the company and how management treated it's employees. Made some good friends and future contacts.
Inconvénients
Health and safety is not even a remote concern at this facility. I had a chronic cough due to chemical exposure while working there, because everything is enclosed in a building. Poorly monitored and regulated. If you bring up concerns, you're met with staff who don't want to do the work to fix it and just "yes" you until you stop complaining.
Management is not interested in retaining, training, or valuing their employees. After running a 2-week long, 24-hour pilot test where employees were asked to run rotating 12-hour shifts....Our group was actually accused of "Being Lazy" and "Lacking drive and commitment to do the job correctly."
There is very high turn over (for a reason). No one there more than 2 years when I left.
