Avantages
A good step into the industry, if you're extremely desperate for any tech adjacent job. Good source of employment for recent graduates Good camaraderie among coworkers
Inconvénients
Extraordinarily tone-deaf in regard to any form of employee comfort or morale Examples: - Dragged their feet regarding COVID regulations, especially if it allowed for departure from the building during office hours even when they say that they have been exposed, possibly positive, or have compromised family members - When the company moved offices, it took only the bare minimum for renovations, and essentially forced employees to work in unsafe and poor conditions (no air conditioning, black mold, water stains, AC filters were black, water from the sinks were discolored) - When management FINALLY addressed the issues with the office building, refused to let employees leave early/vacate the building during renovations. Instead, the employees were expected to work through wall sanding, painting, dusting, tearing up old carpet, all work that would kick up residue and harmful particulates. Employees who complained were simply told to put on a face mask or take antihistamines and continue working in the office. Incompetent HR who refuses to take complaints about upper management seriously and allows their authority to be abused Extreme micromanagement regarding breaks, lunch, time off, and presentations of productivity, even for salaried employees. Examples: - Employees would be occasionally followed into break rooms to monitor how long they would take - Bathroom breaks would be counted and occasionally timed as well - Arrival/Departure would be timed to the minute, and building access would require employees to badge in and badge out not for security reasons but for clocking in/clocking out reasons (not to mention the fire hazard that forcing employees to each badge out to exit a building) Unbalanced recognition in achievements, ie some get public credit and salary raises for achievements and merits, while others performing at the same level don't Ultimately, the upper levels petend to listen to employee dissatisfaction, but refuses to be transparent about steps that they would take to address these and to be accountable. Instead, all they do is make platitudes and ultimately do nothing to affect change
