The CTO has made a conscious decision to staff departments with individuals who lack the necessary technical depth and prioritize political loyalty over expertise. This is not an oversight; it is a strategy that favors "yes-men" who won't question his direction over objective competence. The DevOps management is a perfect example: clearly out of their depth, lacking fundamental technical knowledge, and seemingly hired for loyalty alone. Under this leadership, the department is in freefall. Reckless, uncommunicated changes routinely break production, causing outages and chaos across engineering. All while the DevOps and CTO leadership focus on playing political games, managing upward, and preserving their own image instead of fixing the issues they create. This has bred a culture where failure is normalized, accountability is nonexistent, and skilled employees are sidelined or driven out. The company’s stability is being sacrificed due to executive misalignment and mismanagement. Word travels fast about the engineering leadership and toxic culture. The reputation is so damaged that even decent engineers refuse to apply, leaving the company unable to hire anyone competent. Do not work here if you care about your career, your professional well-being, or working in a functional environment. The leadership is not just ineffective - they are an active threat to the company’s survival.

- Engineering and Leadership Deficiencies: Across the entire engineering organization, there is a severe disconnect between new leadership and operational reality. Experienced engineers who could challenge a flawed vision are being driven out, while ineffective and unhelpful individuals are promoted or relied upon for key decisions. This strategic mismanagement is exacerbating internal chaos, with the situation in the new DevOps management being the most visibly dysfunctional. - DevOps Management Ineffectiveness: The DevOps management has been consistently absent and ineffective, with critical responsibilities often falling to senior DevOps engineers to handle. This has created a vacuum of leadership, leaving key processes undocumented and prone to error, and there is a heavy reliance on the goodwill and effort of the most experienced members. - Critical Process Failures: Major changes to the core processes, especially within DevOps, are often uncommunicated to other engineering departments. This frequently causes unexpected production issues, forcing other teams into reactive firefighting mode. - Production instability: The combination of poor communication, absent management, and a flawed talent strategy has resulted in a highly unstable production environment. This is rapidly eroding the company's technical foundation.
