It looks good on your CV if you have worked in a chemical plant.

Inconvénients

Perspex international is literally one of the worst places I have ever worked. They are currently advertising for engineers, process operators and shift managers due to “large orders”, the truth is that the place is such an awful place to work, that they cannot keep employees. Just recently they lost 3 engineers, a joiner and a shift manager. Nobody likes the place; it has been dumbed down so much over the last few years that I would be surprised if it survives. They used to employ the best managers in the business, now they will literally employ anyone. The only departments that have grown in size is the personnel department and the purchasing department, both of which are occupied by people with not much sense, but they will do exactly what they are told to do without question. If you like the thought of working in an open prison, then Perspex would be a great place for you. Scan in daily using the eye scanner, and be watched all day long by the many CCTV camera’s on site (not the security camera’s). The 12 hour shifts are a real killer and the work is boring, repetitive and mind numbing. The canteen facilities are incredibly poor, with just a hot drinks dispenser and a vending machine for junk snacks, with a couple of microwaves and a sink. Years ago, Perspex used to be one of the best places to work in Lancashire, now it is one of the worst. The only people that have lasted there for years are the ones that cannot get a job elsewhere, the “lifers”, but when you go to work there, you’ll soon find out that they are on a different contract to you and at least £6000 per year for doing the exact same job.
