Avantages

1st eventually we were getting paid the agreed monthly salary. 2nd after having worked in Profile, working to other companies and getting things done is much easier, efficient and much more fulfilling. 3rd The local market appreciates you more since they know that if you have withstanded stay and work for Profile for a some time, then you definitelly have some good skills dealing with all the vicissitudes on a daily basis. No matter the position.

Inconvénients

Very embarrassing and frustrating environment. Respect there flows single way, from everybody in the company to the CEO-owner. Never vice versa. Practically single tier management despite the management levels in place. Everyone can be blamed and held accountable by the CEO directly if he feels so, canceling senior and middle management. Even in small things. Custom software products full of problems or even not working at all as agreed, allways had to trick frustrated customers to accept delayed and overpaid projects some of which ended up in courts especially international accounts, never give bonus, refuse to compensate rightfull leave days to emploees that had not used them due to heavy schedules, unpaid long hours for everybody, poor expense compensation. No need to write more though they exist.

Avantages

Colleagues are generally good at their jobs and support each other, the environment among regular employees is good. Your immediate superiors try to shield you. There's a yearly employee review for feedback and a possible pay increase. The business domain itself is very interesting.

Inconvénients

Toxic and extremely demanding upper management, with unpaid overtime. There's no structure, organization, or clear direction, it feels like a sinking ship. There is zero onboarding or training, none at all. You learn everything on your own by struggling through every task assigned to you. Be aware that the entire codebase is legacy VB6, a language and IDE from 1998, so good luck getting comfortable with it or actually growing as an engineer. The plans to migrate from VB6 to modern technologies have no clear timeline, and despite what management says, nothing meaningful is being done. Most work is constantly delayed, incomplete, faulty, lacking requirements, and rushed, which leaves you maintaining and adding to a growing pile of dead code. On top of that, client meetings become exercises in hiding the mess, and you end up exposing yourself. Eventually I felt like I was getting worse at my job, that my skills were declining rather than growing, and once you learn the obsolete codebase, there's genuinely nothing left to learn. Finally, they even cancel the exit interviews, because they already know what they will hear and what their faults are, yet make no effort to fix them!

Avantages

The only separation from the outdated office culture is a dedicated break area for meals. It is a small refuge, though interestingly, senior management rarely uses it, preferring to stay at their desks. On a positive note, the common struggle creates strong bonds among the junior staff.

Inconvénients

The company culture appears to reward the loudest and most aggressive voices. Toxicity flows from the top down; it is common for middle management to use verbal aggression or "shouting matches" as a stress-relief mechanism when they are pressured from above. The recruitment strategy seems heavily reliant on external agencies to bypass direct scrutiny of their reputation. They frequently cycle through new graduates who are eager for experience, while using psychological devaluation to undermine the confidence of long-term staff, seemingly to discourage them from seeking better opportunities elsewhere. HR acts primarily as a shield for management rather than a support system for employees. Verdict: If you are considering Profile, look elsewhere first; this is the bottom of the barrel for the Greek tech scene. If you are already there, know your worth is higher than what they tell you. Contact your union. Try to find some new role.
