PDUs Helping People Giving back to your community Really having the feeling that you make a difference I put myself where the rubber meets the road by taking peoples opinions seriously

Inconvénients

I can't speak for every chapters leadership staff. Some chapters, like our sister Chapter, seem to have their stuff together, everyone works in unison and not only do they accomplish their goals but board members have the freedom take on additional side projects in an attempt to make the chapter better. Not my chapter. You do what you're told or they'll happily find your replacement. It makes you not want to contribute. I'm an extrovert so by nature I move quickly, get as much done as feasibly possible, love interacting w/ everyone and am always looking for ways to improve our chapter (Not myself, our chapter). Here's the problem; my chapter isn't interested in individuals performing at peak levels. They're interested in defining your position via 5 or 6 bullet points and then go out of their way to ensure that you stay in your box. Problem is that I'm an entrepreneur at heart. If I'm walking down a hallway and see a light bulb out, I'm not calling maintence, I'm fixing the lightbulb. The Chapter is big on 'swim lanes'. Swim lanes are the most idiodic 'leadership' 'skillset' ever created. It's worthless and slows productivity. As of this review 5 people, FIVE, have resigned from the chapter Board of Directors in the last 3-4 years and while I admit that I'm proud of our chapter president, even at times looking to him as a mentor, I don't get the impression that he holds the leadership skills. or the courage to do what it takes to reign his board in.

Great company, great leadership, very clear strategy and a very passionate community.

Inconvénients

Not many cons, maybe disorganized sometimes. Too many internal meetings.

Avantages

Remote work, but that is really it.

Inconvénients

Compensation used to be competitive, but workload, expectations and initiatives have increased, Everyone is being asked to do more, and work harder with the same resources with no consideration for fair pay. Senior leaders are well aware of how they are perceived, but choose to do nothing, or simply say they are working on fixing things, with no tangible efforts seen. Our CEO is running the reputation, culture, and company into the ground for the sake of revenue. Him and his executive team are known bullies, and even though this has been complained about by so many of us, even to HR, nothing is ever done about it. We NEED board intervention. Just take a look at PMI's ratings. Even with the reviews obviously crafted and directed by internal leaders to try and suppress negative reviews. I will also add that career growth is non-existent, and the determined best fix for these concerns was training telling employees its their problem to figure out. Really makes us feel valued.
