Avantages
Long term work due to the product being manufactured i.e. aerospace therefore redundancies do not happen often. Salary not the worst for shopfloor workers but if you have skills these are not readily appreciated.
Inconvénients
Management are all for themselves with no real commitment to the employees. No support structures in place to help fair promotion in the workplace. Face fitting is rife throughout the site. Very few opportunities for progression. Management do not realise the skills they have at their disposal. Most employees feel under valued due to draconian management in place. Sometimes asking to work outside procedure to enable them to achieve sales targets. (Though they won’t admit to this) work is not planned evenly throughout the month leaving a mad rush and panic stress at the end of month when corners are sometimes cut.
