Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback and for acknowledging the positive aspects of your role, particularly working with animals and volunteers, which we know is a key reason many people choose to work with us. We are genuinely sorry to hear that your experience did not meet the standards we strive to uphold. Concerns relating to management behaviour, workplace culture, and respect are taken very seriously, and we recognise how impactful these issues can be on individuals and teams. We are committed to continually reviewing our leadership practices, internal processes, and staff support structures, and feedback such as yours plays an important role in that work. We encourage current and former employees to raise concerns through our internal reporting channels so they can be fully investigated and addressed appropriately. Thank you again for your contribution and for the work you carried out while with us. We wish you all the best in your future career.

Avantages

I had a great supervisor, Sally, who ran a tight ship but was also a friendly and helpful mentor and didn't get angry when I made mistakes as I was starting out. I got some experience stocking the shelves, interacting with a variety of customers, and learning the value of merchandise. There's also some opportunities to get cool books, etc. for low prices, especially if no one else wants them.

Inconvénients

I worked as a volunteer, since it's a charity shop, so obviously I didn't get paid. In addition, customers will sometimes have strong body odor, and like any customer service job, you just have to grin and bear it.
