Dear former Rakutenian,
We want to thank you for your contribution to Rakuten and for the transparency of your feedback. That said, we are disturbed to hear your assertion that inappropriate behavior may have occurred and gone unreported in our office. We take allegations of this nature seriously and we encourage all employees to share concerns of policy infringement or misconduct. Please know that every such complaint is promptly and thoroughly investigated and that we strictly enforce Rakuten’s anti-retaliation policy. Furthermore, we maintain a third party helpline for any employee who prefers to remain anonymous while sharing concerns with the company. We encourage you, and any former colleagues, to contact us with your specific concerns so we may address them.
Lastly, we are proud of Rakuten’s Japanese origins. We believe our company’s heritage to be compatible with our goals of a progressive and inclusive corporate culture in all of our global offices. The feedback of our employees allows us to continue improving on that culture every day.
